We’re Vanessa and Sergio! We are raising three kids, building careers, and living by a simple belief — that hard things are worth doing, especially when you do them together.

The kids are along for every mile of it, stroller packed, snacks loaded, and yes, sometimes woken up before the sun. This isn’t about winning races or being perfect athletes or perfect parents. We’re not crossing finish lines in first place, we’re crossing them as a family. One day, we hope our kids remember more than the races. We hope they remember what it looked like to prepare, struggle, adapt, cheer, wait, try again, and keep showing up for each other.
That belief is what put us here. Vanessa is on a mission to run all seven World Marathon Majors, and Sergio is training for Ironman with his eyes set on the Ironman World Championship in Kona. These aren’t weekend goals, they’re years-long journeys that will take everything we have. We set the bar high, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. And the finish line is rarely just a finish line, it’s a new city, a new country, a new adventure.
Something has to give when you live like this. For us, it’s usually sleep.
We started The Endurance Family because we believe hard things are worth doing and even better when you do them together. If you’re a parent trying to fit in miles between school drop-offs, a couple navigating two training plans under one roof, or just someone who needs proof that it’s possible, you’re in the right place.
This is the long run.
